Not For Folded Laundry

If you come to my house 5 minutes from now you’ll find laundry and toys all over a floor that needs vacuuming, kids sitting mesmerized in front of the tv, and a dog desperately in need of a bath. It’s been one of those days… Actually, it was one of those weekends.

Days like these are the reason I adore my husband. Even though he’s gone at work he still manages to come to my rescue.

“I feel terrible that I haven’t gotten to the laundry yet.” I say to him over the phone.

“Who cares!” He promptly answers. “I didn’t marry you so I would have folded laundry.”

Today those words are the most romantic in the world!

So, if you come to my house 5 minutes from now you’ll find laundry and toys all over a floor that needs vacuuming, kids sitting mesmerized in front of the tv, and a dog desperately in need of a bath. It’s been one of those days. I will be on the front porch in my rocking chair reading my Bible, listening to praise music, and thanking God for my husband. Without him I might forget that my life is about my relationships first and my responsibilities second. And on days like this, I need a little extra time with my Father in Heaven.

Father in Heaven, Thank you for always being there in the midst of my chaos. Thank you for a husband who continues to remind me to tend to my relationship with You before anything else. In Jesus name, Amen.
