5 Minute Friday: Color

On Fridays I join with others from around the blogosphere over at The Gypsy Mama and together we stop, drop, and write.

We write bold and beautiful and free. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.

OK, are you ready? Here’s my best five minutes on:

Color

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. Genesis 1:6-8

GO:

Color. This world is full of color. God did that. He didn’t have to, but He did.

God created blue for me. On the second day He spoke and blue came to be. Not just any blue, the ever changing, ever beautiful blue of the sky. Sometimes deep and dark, other times light and pure.

There is no sky blue on my color wheel. In it’s place is the color of hope. I stare into that beautiful color and my heart feels hope so strong I think it might break. Ripped in two. Torn between the world I see and the one I long for.

I could stare into the color of hope forever. I love moments, sitting on the front porch, staring into the color of hope, so aware of His presence. He is there in the color of hope.

The color of hope reminds me of all that is to come. It reminds me of that perfect place. Physically beyond my reach and yet at the same time resting in my heart. Oh how my soul longs for it.

Can you see it? Can you see hope in that vault?
Does it fill your heart with wonder? Do you dare to reach for it?

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Won’t you join us?
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back to The Gypsy Mama and invite others to join in.
3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!
